About

This blog is a series of writings on issues concerning the conservation of the California Channel Islands and the surrounding marine environments. They are my opinions only, and in some cases that’s a darn good thing. Still, much of what I think and say comes from 20 years of experience working on the islands, conducting research on terrestrial ecology, and observing the agency and public politics surrounding management of the islands. My goal is simply to provide a perspective that perhaps engenders further discussion that ultimately results in greater long-term protection and study of island resources.
